ネオジム・鉄・ボロンを主成分としており、世界最強の磁石です。
メリット
ネオジ磁石は永久磁石の中で、最高の磁気特性をもっており、小さくても十分な磁力を得られます。その為、現行の製品の小型化・軽量化が可能になります。また、ネオジム・鉄・ボロンといった材料を使用している為、他のアルニコ磁石、サマコバ磁石と比べ安価です。機械的な強度に優れています。
デメリット
一般的な材質の使用温度が80℃程度ということで、他の磁石に比べて熱に弱いです。(耐熱材もあります)鉄を主成分としているため、錆びやすいです。耐食性に劣っています(通常ではニッケルなどで表面処理を行います)
